Donald “Gene” E. Burwell, 58, of Toledo, OH, and formerly of Temperance, MI, died Friday, January 29, 2016, at Merit House in Toledo.  Born March 21, 1957, in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Donald H. and Betty L. (VanMeter) Burwell.  A 1976 graduate of Bedford High School, he married Lisa A. Mullikin on July 14, 1990.  He was owner and operator of DLC Mobility Service, LLC for over 15 years. Don was an active member of CrossPoint Community Church in Point Place, where he served as an elder, Boys Brigade leader and a volunteer at the annual free bicycle repair during Point Place Days. He enjoyed  golfing and scrapbooking with his wife.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa; sons, Richard, Matthew and Charles Burwell; sister, Dorothy Monhollen and granddaughter, Alyssa Burwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Rose Escott and brother, Robert Thrush.

Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 4, 2016, at 11:00 am at CrossPoint Community Church, 4212 Onondaga Avenue, Toledo, OH 43611. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle, MI.  Pastor Michael DeLong, officiating. Memorials may be made to the Christian Service Brigade.  www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
